Advent Day 3

I love today's scripture verse.

Last night at Bible Study, Beth Moore (on DVD) taught about taking up the shield of faith and wielding the sword of God's word. A war is coming, the church will be tested and refined. Oh boy! I can hardly wait!

I found these words comforting:

Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
   to the house of the God of Jacob;
that he may teach us his ways
   and that we may walk in his paths.
For out of Zion shall go forth instruction,
   and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between the nations,
   and shall arbitrate for many peoples;
they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
   and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
   neither shall they learn war any more.

Isaiah 2:3-4

This is a time of peace; a quiet time to be still and know that He is God. A God who can transform into a human being and live with us.  Anticipating the arrival of God as a baby, I enjoy the quiet, the peace, and the joy. Amen.
