I just ran across this in my A.Word.A.Day with Anu Garg email. It was an old one from January 11, but how approriate that I read it today. It's the introduction to the week's theme of words related to religion.
"The word religion derives from Latin ligare (to tie or to bind, as in 'ligament')..."
